And the winner is...

it is just so amazing on how long (make it how short) it would take for Americans to choose a person that would change the way their country goes. for them to show their right to vote and for them to elect a person who would be able to serve to its country's needs. for them to select a president.

around 7:00 AM yesterday, since we don't have that usual influx of calls, we checked on the status of the election. it was Mc Cain that was leading by then. however, after an hour or 2, Obama was leading on popularity vote.

At the end of the day, Barack Obama was declared as the winner with a 202 electoral vote lead from John Mc Cain.

Why did Barack Obama won?

as for my analysis, he won drawing his strength using his race strategically and symbolically. He had been the talk of the town since his campaign began and laid his platform of government. he also reached out his hand to places that are racially mixed and used it as a foundation for him to pursue his dream and to cut it short, he's the first black African-American to become the president of the United States.

truly, Obama had surpassed every challenge prior to his election and i believe that his sweeping victory will be another challenge for him as the United States is facing one of the worst financial crisis they had ever imagined.
